The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmad Aliyu for second terms ahead of the 2027 general elections, while unveiling a statewide electronic membership registration exercise aimed at strengthening party structures and consolidating political dominance.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by Sokoto State APC Chairman, Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida, during the inauguration of committees at the state, zonal, and local government levels for the e-registration initiative. Achida emphasized that the exercise would modernize the party’s membership database, enhance internal organisation, and demonstrate APC’s growing influence in Sokoto State.
“Sokoto State is increasingly aligning with the APC, and this registration will highlight our strength and commitment,” Achida stated. He urged committee members to execute their responsibilities diligently, transparently, and within the one-month timeline. The chairman also directed local government council chairmen to establish grassroots committees to ensure full participation.
State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Alhaji Bello Sambo Danchadi, who also heads the publicity committee for the initiative, explained that the e-registration would create a reliable and verifiable database of APC members across Sokoto State. “This system will allow the party to accurately measure its organisational capacity and plan effectively for the 2027 elections,” he said.
The exercise is supported by a structured framework including a State Monitoring Committee chaired by Achida, with Dr. Yakubu Maccido as secretary, zonal committees for Sokoto Central, East, and West, and a publicity team responsible for media engagement. In Sokoto Central Zone, the zonal committee chairman, Alhaji Yahaya Buhari, pledged that the e-registration would foster party unity and strengthen APC’s readiness for upcoming elections.
“The exercise will solidify our organisational structure, promote cohesion, and position the APC strategically for future electoral victories,” Buhari said.
The publicity committee, led by Commissioner Danchadi with Bashar Abubakar as secretary, will ensure that information about the e-registration reaches all corners of the state. The registration is scheduled to cover all 23 local government areas within one month, forming a key component of APC’s strategy to eliminate duplication, enhance internal organisation, and enter the 2027 elections with renewed political strength.
