Kano Governor Flags Off APC E-Registration Exercise

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has officially launched the All Progressives Congress (APC) electronic membership registration exercise, marking a major step toward strengthening the party’s internal structures and broadening its membership base across the state.

The launch took place on Monday at the Coronation Hall of the Government House, Kano, shortly after the governor formally rejoined the APC. The event was attended by eight members of the House of Representatives, 21 members of the Kano State House of Assembly, members of the State Executive Council, and other party stakeholders.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, the governor described the e-registration initiative as transparent, inclusive and driven by modern technology. He said the process was designed to improve party administration, promote internal democracy and ensure the credibility of APC’s membership database.
Governor Yusuf encouraged party members and supporters across the state to actively participate in the exercise, praising the APC leadership for adopting digital tools to modernise party operations. According to him, the registration process would make it easier for members to enrol and update their records seamlessly.

The e-registration exercise is expected to be carried out across all wards in Kano State, providing a unified platform for membership registration and data verification.

Meanwhile, Governor Yusuf’s return to the ruling party has continued to reshape the political landscape in Kano. His defection was accompanied by 22 members of the State House of Assembly, eight members of the House of Representatives, and all 44 local government chairmen in the state, signalling a major political realignment.
