Gov Okpebholo Rewards Government House Staff with SUVs for Outstanding Service

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has rewarded three staff members of the Government House Directorate with brand-new Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) in recognition of their dedication and exemplary service.

The presentation took place on Thursday at the Government House in Benin City and was aimed at motivating public servants who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their duties.

Personally handing over the vehicles, Governor Okpebholo commended the beneficiaries for their discipline, punctuality, and strong work ethic, noting that their habit of resuming early and closing late had not gone unnoticed.

According to the governor, he deliberately delayed activities on the day of the presentation to observe their conduct.

“Today, I allowed things to happen late because I wanted to know whether you would close early and miss your luck. God kept you. It has been your habit to come early and close late,” he said.

Okpebholo recalled observing one of the staff members trekking briskly to the office to arrive on time, describing it as a clear demonstration of dedication to duty.
“I watch carefully. You deserve this, and I want you to continue in this manner. We are here to serve the people of Edo State,” he added.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mary Salami expressed gratitude to the governor, describing the gesture as overwhelming and unexpected.

“I am very grateful to Mr Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo. I pray that God Almighty will bless and prosper him and give him the grace to make the right decisions at all times,” she said.

The beneficiaries are Mary Salami and Sylvanus, both of the Protocol Department, and Mike Oshioshio from the ICT unit, all under the Government House Directorate.

The gesture, according to the state government, forms part of Governor Okpebholo’s broader efforts to encourage excellence, discipline, and dedication among public servants in Edo State.
