Malami’s Brother Endorses Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris for Second Term
Malami Brother Endorses Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris

A brother of former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has declared support for Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, endorsing him for a second term in office.
The endorsement was made during a political engagement in Kebbi State, where Malami’s brother commended Governor Idris for what he described as tangible achievements recorded under the current administration. He urged party members and residents of the state to rally behind the governor ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.
According to him, the Idris administration has prioritized infrastructure development, improved the welfare of civil servants, and pursued policies aimed at strengthening economic activities across Kebbi State. He noted that continuity in leadership would allow the government to consolidate on ongoing projects and reforms.
He also stressed that the governor’s leadership style has promoted unity among political stakeholders in the state, arguing that stability within the ruling party and government is crucial for sustained development.
Political analysts view the endorsement as significant due to Abubakar Malami’s longstanding political influence in Kebbi State, particularly within the All Progressives Congress (APC). Malami, a former two-term Attorney-General, remains a major political figure whose associates and allies command support across several parts of the state.
Governor Nasir Idris, who was elected in 2023 on the platform of the APC, is seeking re-election amid growing political activities in Kebbi State. In recent months, his administration has received endorsements from party leaders, support groups, and grassroots organisations backing his second-term ambition.
As preparations for the governorship election intensify, observers expect more political alignments, endorsements, and strategic positioning among key actors in Kebbi State’s political landscape.
